This September, nine startups will be selected to pitch their ideas in front of a live Dragon’s Den at the Ericsson Studio and in collaboration with the STHLM TechFest. The winning startup will get technology incubation with the global network of Ericsson Garages, unlimited access to a smart city testbed and an express pass to a final decision investment meeting.

Börje Ekholm
CEO of Ericsson

Börje Ekholm assumed this role on January 16, 2017. Most recently Ekholm was CEO of Patricia Industries, a division within Investor AB (2015 – January 15, 2017). Prior to assuming this position in 2015, he was President and CEO of Investor AB between 2005 and 2015. Previous positions also include Head of New Investments and President of Investor Growth Capital Inc. Ekholm has had various positions at Novare Kapital AB and McKinsey & Co Inc.

Sara Mazur
Head of Research

Sara completed a Master’s degree in science, a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, and is also an appointed Associate Professor in Fusion Plasma Physics – all at Sweden’s KTH Royal Institute of Technology. She was named the Most Powerful Woman in the Digital category of the Swedish business magazine Veckans Affärer 2016 list of 111 leaders across industries.

Sándor Albrecht
Founder of Ericsson Garage

Sándor Albrecht received his M.Sc.E.E. and Ph.D. from Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 1993 and 2004, respectively. He also received a M.A.Sc. from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1998 and a MBA from Central European University Business School, Budapest, Hungary in 2009. He joined Ericsson in Hungary in 1999, where he worked as a project and line manager. He moved to Stockholm in 2010 and joined the IP and Broadband Design Unit to lead the technology strategy for IP and packet transport evolution. He moved to Ericsson Research in March 2013 and currently he is the Director of Research Area Networking Technologies. He is the founder and head of Ericsson Garage.

Tanya Marvin-Horowitz
Co-founder & Managing Partner, CAP A Partner, Butterfly Ventures

Tanya’s extensive financial services experience has spanned asset management and middle market mergers and acquisitions on both the buy-side and the sell-side. Throughout her career, she has specialized in identifying and executing investment and M&A opportunities for all kinds of clients, including high net worth individuals, family offices, private equity groups, and other institutional and corporate investors. Prior to joining Capital A Partners, Tanya was a Managing Director in Allegiance Capital Corporation’s New York Office, an M&A advisory firm representing privately held companies with transaction values between $30 million and $250 million. Tanya also spent time at Merrill Lynch, where she established a corporate and individual asset management advisory business within Merrill Lynch’s Global Private Client Group, advising family offices, executives, high net worth individuals, private equity groups, and business owners on financing, investment, and M&A opportunities. Tanya began her career in the entertainment industry, providing financial services to famous musicians, entertainers, and professional athletes.

Mala Chakraborti
Senior Advisor Ericsson Garage

Mala Chakraborti is  currently the Senior Advisor to the Ericsson Garage, the in-house technology incubator for internal and external startups. She joined Ericsson in 2016, and has also worked with Capital Resource Allocation and Portfolio Management in Group Function Strategy. Prior to joining Ericsson, Mala was the Vice President Corporate Responsibility at Atlas Copco. She has a business and science background, and has experience working with (and in) startups as well as in consulting. Mala ranked #3 in the Future Female Leaders list in 2017, and has also been featured as one of the 101 Super Talents in Veckan’s Äffarer  as well as the Stockholm Institute’s Global Swede award for entrepreneurs in 2012.

 For 10 years Gail was a shareholder in and the CEO of a Training, Project Management and Outsourcing Company called Outlearning (Pty) Ltd. Prior to that she ran her own consultancy, The Training Focus where for close to nine years she consulted to organisations on training effectiveness and the improvement of workplace performance. The early years of her career were spent in the Travel Industry, including a few years with South African Airways.
